Dr. Larkin’s research focuses on determining how the mechanism(s) responsible for the decrease in strength and endurance of aging skeletal muscle could help in the prevention and treatment of skeletal muscle disorders in the elderly. Her research also involves investigation of interventions which may diminish or reverse the age-related decline in muscle function.
