Dr. Langa is a General Internist, an Assistant Professor in the Department of Internal Medicine, an Investigator at the VA Center for Practice Management and Outcomes Research, and a Faculty Associate in the Institute for Social Research, at the University of Michigan. Dr. Langa’s present research focuses on estimating the societal costs of chronic disease for both working-age and older adults, with a special emphasis on Alzheimer’s Disease. He is a Co-Investigator on the “Health and Retirement Study,” a nationally representative longitudinal survey of adults age 50 and older, and the “Aging, Demographics, and Memory Study,” a national study of dementia, both funded by the National Institute on Aging.
